Eyes on the prize...

James 1:2 (NLT)
Dear brothers and sisters, when troubles come your way, consider it an opportunity for great joy.

- Now that's a lifelong challenge!

Somewhere we're told that "for the joy set before him" Jesus endured death on the cross. Now when I stop and think about Jesus' struggles during his prayers in Gethsamane, I think we can let ourselves off the hook if we don't go skipping, jumping and rejoicing through our own trials and tribulations. Often the best we can do is soldier on, but if we can at least "keep our eyes on the prize" - that is, that opportunity for future joy, this can help get us through.

That is a good thing to hear today.

... several months ago I thought what a great blessing it would be to win the lottery ...We would buy a Caravan and fly through several of my "bucket list" items on our way up to Alaska ... where several other bc items could be scooped up ...
Uh ... that's not the prize we're looking towards though, is it?!

That day I started thinking about what God says a "blessing" is ... that prize isn't available in a box of cracker jacks ... no matter how big the box!
It's pretty hard to align what I want with what God says is good somedays! Wish there was an app for that.

Thanks for choosing James! I'mlooking forward to following along. ~DeAnn
